#15 - Check 2 web sites for problems - 5000 chips
Check these two web sites for problems and report back here with any dead links, broken HTML, or other problems:
5000+ chips for a solid report on both. Bonus points for an entry I can reference as proof this system works.

In the very first line of HTML, the doctype declaration is invalid.
The favicon 'link' tag in the 'head' section should not be:
, but rather:
'body' tag should not have 'marginheight', 'marginwidth', 'topmargin', or 'leftmargin' attributes.
There is a random HTML DTD and head inserted part-way through the code:
This is an error.
There are are few closing tags that do not have opening tags.
There are many links with duplicate 'target' attributes specified : target="_blank" target="_blank".
All in all, this is very poorly constructed HTML document. As for the design - too many large images, a background image that makes reading text nearly impossible
The CSS contains too many errors to list individually. 'font-family' requires a default font type at the end of your font list - ie: 'serif', 'sans-serif' etc.
w3.org has some useful tools for checking these things, ie:
This site is much tidier.
Watch use of upper-case attribute names ie: 'NAME' and 'CONTENT' in META tags should be 'meta', 'name' and 'content'- XHTML is all lower-case only.
Also, 'meta' tags need to be closed properly, ie: , instead of
I used the w3.org tools used to check this site:
CSS: The errors in the 'meta' tags on this page mean that the CSS validation tool can't read the document, so I cut-and-pasted the CSS information from the file into the w3.org CSS validator.
There was one error: the 'margin' property in the '.post-body div' declaration should be 'margin:10px 0;' instead of 'margin: 10px, 0px;'.
Given that the markup for this blog is largely based on Dan Rubin's 'Thisaway Blue' template, as provided by Blogger, the code is generally sound.
Since the user can add any code to a blog post, it is very hard to get a Blogger-type blog to validate correctly.

Marketdata appears to have something that should be a sidebar displayed at the very bottom. Checking the source reveals that all of the code at the bottom (starting from the Bloglines code) is outside the ending tag, and the Sitemeter code is just before the closing tag. All of these should instead be moved into the sidebar div layer (for example directly after the "Powered By Blogger" code).

* background is nice but makes the text hard to read, how about a white box around the text?
* same for the date, comment, etc. line. more contrast please
* as sayed earlier, iamges are too big
* For the quotations, don't italic the author, there should be a clear difference between quotation and the author
* don't use HTML-tables, CSS is the new cool thing (like here at B$)
* header of the email box is too long and doesn't fit in one line.
* too many different colors, two or three should be more than enough.
* don't center so much of the content, not good for reading
* blue background should be higher and fixed via CSS (like at my http://tomk32.blogger.de
* 'about me' is indented too much
* the stuff at the bottom (site meter, weblinks) should be in the right column, again: don't center!
* a vertical taproot-banner would be better
If you want me to improve the code of one or both, here are my references: http://webdesign.tomk32.de/ I also take chips ;-)

http://sorin_work.blog.ro/ - Does not validate on w3 as anything. (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fsorin_work.blog.ro%2F)
http://marketdata.blogspot.com/ - Again, does not validate on w3.org (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://marketdata.blogspot.com/)
I can fix most of these if you'd like.

i did not find any link problem on the site or any broken link however,
the only problem i found is the display of very large images on the main page, you might try placing a thumbnail that is linking to a larger picture instead.
also try changing the font size or color to match with your background.
i did not find any problen with this site. nicely done, i appreciate the choice of colors.
you might want to arrage some links and place tags and lessen the font size. also it is better to place your ads above, there is a high probability that it will be visited is place on top.
