Artefact HTO

Hostile Takeover, or HTO is a type of Artefact usage.

This move allows the player to buy all non-owner shares for a particular blog in the artefact's industry at 3 times the market price. Performing a hostile takeover requires an existing 20% stake in the blog. For example : if a blog has a total of 5000 shares, you must be holding a minimum of 1000 shares to HTO it, which is 20% of 5000.

Net Effects

For shareholders in the blog, they will lose those shares, BUT they will be paid TRIPLE the market price for the shares they are holding; a net gain, provided the share price was not first destroyed by a player with a PR Disaster (which is a potential loss in value). The blog's owner's shares will not be affected at all, though they might get annoyed for the sake of their other shareholders and may retaliate in some way (Leveraged Buy Out, Stock Splits, and other such actions, for example, but the blog owner MUST be holding at least one share in his/her own blog to be able to do anything at all).
