Player Awards and Service Badges

BlogShares has an automated, and a non-automated awards system. Some of the awards that might appear are:

Role Based Awards

• Board of Directors - Current or Former Member
• Game Administrator - Current or Former Member
• BlogShares Securities and Exchange Commission - Current or Former Member
• Game Improvement Commission - Current or Former Member
• Index Manager - Current or Former Member
• Editor - Current or Former Member

• Excellence in Role - Given for exceptional performance in a volunteer role.
• Game Service - Given by Admin for service to the game.

Time Based Awards

• BlogShares Beta Tester - Given to the very earliest of BlogShares players.

• 1 Year Member - Give to members that have been around longer than 1 year.
• 2 Year Member - Give to members that have been around longer than 2 years.
• 3 Year Member - Give to members that have been around longer than 3 years.
• 4 Year Member - Give to members that have been around longer than 4 years.
• 5+ Year Member - Give to members that have been around longer than 5 years and more.

Rank Based Awards

• Top Member - Given to the current #1 on the composite rankings.
• Top Networth Member - Given to the current #1 on the wealth rankings.
• Top Karma Member - Given to the current #1 on the karma rankings.
• Top Sigma Member - Given to the current #1 on the sigma rankings.

• 10,000+ Karma Member - Given to the players with more than 10,000 karma.
• 10,000+ Sigma Member - Given to the players with more than 10,000 sigma.

Other Awards

• The BlogShares Star - The highest award in all the land. Awarded for meritorious service above and beyond the call of duty.
• BlogShares Gold - Awarded for outstanding service, valor, or sportsmanship at the discretion of The Powers That Be.

• Lottery Winner - Awarded to players who win the BlogShares lottery.
• Contest / Raffle Winner - Awarded to players who win either a raffle or a contest.
• Forum Contest Winner - Awarded to players who won a forum based contest.
• 23's Contest Winner - Awarded to players who won one of the old 23's contests.

• Artefact Contributor - Awarded to players who have written and contributed artefacts to the game.
  • Note: Only one artefact badge displays, however, the tooltip will list the number and names of all your artefact badges.
• Super Artefact Contributor - Awarded to players who have written and contributed 5 or more artefacts to the game.

• Bug Finder Award - Awarded to players who have consistently found, reported, and even suggested fixes to game bugs.
• Code Monkey Award - Awarded to players who have actively contributed to the code base of the game - in new features, fixes, or even third-party addons.
• Creative Support Award - Awarded to those members who have contributed their ideas or their artwork to the game.
• FOI / KWP Contributor - Awarded to those players who participated in FOI and/or KWP.
• Index Contributor - Awarded to those players who have made significant contributions to the index.
• Wiki Contributor - Awarded to those players who have made significant contributions to the help wiki system.
• Beta Fish Award - Awarded to those players who have helped beta or alpha test new game features.

• DB Fund Contributor - Awarded to those players who helped fund the new database server.
• Hall of Fame Cash Contributor Award - Awarded to those players that appear in the Hall of Fame with a cash gift.
• Hall of Fame Chips Contributor Award - Awarded to those players that appear in the Hall of Fame with a chips gift.

• Community Adoration Award - Awarded to those players who the community feel deserve special recognition, at the demand of the community.
• New Players' Hero - Awarded to players who have gone above and beyond to help new members of the game. They have been nominated by a new player who they have helped.
