Industries
What Are Industries
Technically, BlogShare Industries represent categories of blogs. There are different categories for everything from Pottery and Ceramics to Chocolate and Fast Food. Once a blog is added to the BlogShares system, players have the opportunity to vote the blog into these categories and many more. There are well over 6200 Industries in the current Index, which grows constantly.
Industries produce Ideas. Basically, you can think of an Industry as a collection of companies, the companies being blogs, and the Ideas they produce as a product or service of those companies. In BlogShares, these products and services (Ideas) are collectible - some more so than others - and some of them can also be used as investments or to build Artifacts.
The Industry hierarchy is broken down into categories and sub-categories (or industries and sub-industries). There are around two dozen top-level categories which produce Ideas, as do the thousands of (sub)categories beneath them. With over 6200 Industries, there are some very specific ones to choose from.

Industry Main Index
The Industry link is available on the menu on the left side of the page, third item down. Clicking this link will take you to the Main Index page.
On the main index you will see every main Industry as well as the first level of sub-Industries. Along with the name (which is itself a link to that particular category or sub-categories page) you will see the number of blogs available, the number of Ideas on the Idea Market (if any) and the market price, and the number of Sub-Industries contained. It should be noted that not all Industries are listed in the Main Index page, and a full list of blog Industries is only available from the Hierarchy view (see below).
- Top 100 Industries: This link takes you to the Market Data page which offers a wealth of information. It drops you to the bottom of the page which is a list of the top 100 Industries listed in order by the number of blogs in each. The Industry names are also linked directly to the home page for that particular Industry, providing detailed information.
- Ideas Market: This is a link to the Ideas Market where the trade and production of Ideas takes place. Production runs once every 15 minutes or so and any Ideas produced drop here.
- Idea Bonds Market: This is where the privately issued Bonds are stored. Whenever you or anyone else decides to release bonds (groups of Ideas for sell set to a price at the owners discretion) they will be found here. Remember: The default view for the Bonds Market only shows bonds issued within the past 48 hours.
- Industry Moderator: Here you will find a link to vote moderation. This is where moderators (anyone with over 750 Karma) can go to either approve or reject votes on blogs. Please be certain that you are thorough when determining the correctness of votes. Poor moderation will may result in the suspension of voting and moderating rights, and malicious moderation may yield fines, penalties, or in extreme cases, account deletion.
- Hierarchy View: The all-inclusive tree-view of Industry in the game which have produced Ideas: an industry that has not produced, or has a parent Industry that has not produced, will not be visible on this view.
